Doctor Who (Seasons 2-4) (2005-2010)

Doctor Who (Seasons 2-4)

  • Definitely my favorite seasons of this show (at the moment), I’d say it’s arguably the best written episodes and characters that the show has had so far. David Tennant as the 10th Doctor is absolutely perfect casting, and he’s easily my favorite Doctor to-date. Unlike Christopher Eccleston, Tennant is quirky and awkward, as well as the typical traits of brave and heroic. He has such a goofy sense of humor, which is why I enjoy him so much. His emotional range of acting is also insanely good. He’s able to be hilarious and dumb, and then flip flop to serious and intense. I can think of several scenes where he actually made me tear up because of how much emotion he portrays. I’d say of all the recent Doctor’s, he’s definitely the one who has the best acting. I truly can’t express how well he’s able to portray pain and loneliness, as well as happiness and hope. The companions were also great throughout these scenes. Rose is continued, and when she leaves, Martha and Donna. Martha is absolutely amazing, and her backstory and family is awesome to watch progress throughout each episode. The same goes to Donna. She’s one of my favorite companions of all time, and her sassy attitude is absolutely hilarious. Just like Martha, Donna’s backstory and family is a huge factor in the show, and they are so fun to watch. Especially Wilf, and you’d have to see the show to know how awesome he is. The stories presented throughout each episode are really good, and they make for a very interesting and intriguing timeline of events. Each episode is thrilling and unique, and there isn’t a single one I didn’t enjoy. Seasons 2-4 wrap up with the 10th Doctor’s regeneration, which to me, is one of the most sad scenes ever filmed in Doctor Who. It’s a perfect transition to the 11th Doctor, and it makes you appreciate everything you’ve seen in these 3 seasons. Overall, they’re extremely great, and Moffat and Davies did a great job continuing the Doctor’s story. Plus, bringing back Sarah Jane and reuniting all the companions at the end of Season 4 was awesome and exciting. These seasons are officially Berry Approved, so go watch them now!
