Leatherface

• This was definitely one of the worst origin story movies I’ve seen. Leatherface is one of the coolest and scariest characters in movie history, and most people agree on that, but this movie absolutely screws him over in explaining his story. The story of this movie also goes a lot against Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. In the original, he is a really big, stocky, heavy guy who is illiterate and can’t speak. In this movie, he’s a skinny, athletic guy who has complete conversations and shows empathy. Once this movie ends, there's absolutely no explanation to why he changed. The rest of the story is really crappy and poorly written as well. None of the Sawyer family (except his mom) has any backstory or explanation to who they are in terms of relation, or anything like that. Most of the characters are also really dumb and poorly written as well. The music isn’t super great, and even though there are some pretty crazy kills, the scariness is kept at a minimum (except for the graphic violence). This movie only makes me MORE confused about who Leatherface is, rather than learning more about who he is and why he does what he does. I definitely won’t watch it again, and I wouldn’t recommend it either.
