The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
The Banshees of Inisherin
Coming in as the 21st perfect movie in Berry history, this was definitely an interesting movie to watch, and it has a fantastic story. It keeps you invested for the whole movie, and it constantly adds drama and plot. It also has several moments that make you laugh, and then some that make you feel pain. It has a talented cast, and everyone did a great job. Farrell, Gleeson, and Keoghan were a power trio, and they all did a beautiful and emotional job. You could really see the feeling that they put into their roles. I really like how the cast is Irish, which obviously fits the setting of the movie. I can’t stand it when they cast American’s in roles of different nationalities, because it often takes away the authenticity of the film. However, Farrell, Gleeson, and Keoghan are all Irish. Therefore, everything they say comes out naturally, and it greatly helps improve the feel of the movie. I loved the setting, and although the story is tragic, the setting still makes the movie feel comfortable. I also love the remote feel it has, which also helps make the movie feel better. The story was really both laid back and intense at the same time, which I loved. Like I said, you could really feel the emotion from each actor, which makes the story pull you in emotionally. Even though I’ve never gone through what Padraic and Colm went through, it still felt personal to me, which is something few movies can do. This is definitely one of the best dramas that’s been recently released, and I was really excited to watch it. I really loved the score, and it was beautiful throughout the whole movie. I loved the inclusion of Irish folk music, played by the characters in the pub. Like the rest of the setting, it helps give the movie an authentic feel. All the music added great emotion and suspense to the movie, from the calm scenes to the sad scenes. The movie also has an interesting ending. It’s tragic, yet still satisfying. I really liked it, and I thought it wrapped up the movie in a great way. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to those who love dramas and dark comedies. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
