Blade: Trinity (2004)
Blade: Trinity
Here’s the thing. I think a problem with movie audiences, especially recently, is that they separate “fun” and “quality” when it comes to movies. For example, if the movie isn’t well made, then it’s automatically bad and there’s no way you can enjoy it. If there’s no quality, it’s not fun. I’m the opposite. Although I do separate “fun” and “quality” in my reviews, I look past quality when I watch movies. Even if it sucks, I still find things entertaining. Look at “Batman & Robin” or “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”. They aren’t super well made, but I absolutely love them because they’re goofy and entertaining. Sorry, I just needed to get all of that out of my system. A lot of people hate this movie just because it’s not well made, but I thought it was funny and decently enjoyable. I will agree with them that it’s definitely the weakest of the Blade trilogy, but I actually liked it better than the first (but not as much as the second). The story is absolutely nothing new, with boring antagonists and a very similar plot to the first two movies. The dialogue and acting was also really corny. As was the acting. And some of the action. But it was fun! I enjoyed Wesley Snipes (of course) and Ryan Reynolds (though no one else did). It’s a pretty great cast. It’s just that it feels like a repeat of the first two movies, but with plenty of new characters. I thought it was pretty fun though. There’s a lot I could gripe about, such as certain creative and production decisions. There’s definitely scenes that are pointless and boring, but also some that feel straight out of a horror movie (one in particular that was awesome). Overall, yes, it’s not well made, but I look past that and just try to have fun. Which I did, for the most part. I’d only recommend it to Blade and die hard Marvel fans.
