Arrow (Season 3) (2014-2015)
Arrow (Season 3)
Although this season was still good, it was a definite step down from the first two seasons. It wasn’t bad, but it took the Arrow storyline in a weird direction that didn’t always make sense. It was enjoyable for the most part, except a few episodes just felt a little odd. The flashback storytelling is still fun, and seeing Oliver from the past and present is nice. Although he makes some questionable decisions that affects his character, I still like him just as much as ever. I like the way this season picks up from season two, as well as the way it leads into season four. The middle of the season is unique and new, which was both a good and bad thing. The presence of Ra’s Al Ghul was awesome. The introduction to his character is good, though it kind of warps the storyline. However, it still works, even though it seems a bit different for the show. I like how this season continues the dark and gritty tone. It makes it so realistic and grounded, which is perfect. The stunts and choreography continue to impress me, and there’s a lot of hand-to-hand and sword fighting in this season. It’s so smooth and clean, even when it’s not supposed to be. The expansion of the character list, as well as their development, is also really good. It gives you something to watch, even in the slowest scenes. Plus, bringing Brandon Routh into the Arrowverse was a brilliant decision. Overall, this season was good, even though there were some bits that didn’t make much sense to the show as a whole. This season is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
