Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver
Once again, here’s another hugely underrated Zack Snyder movie. It is far from perfect, but I enjoyed it, and it hurts to see all the hate for it. After watching it, I can understand why most people don’t like it. The story is essentially the same as the first one, and unfortunately, there are times when it feels like you’re watching stuff you’ve already seen. It’s also just another good vs evil plot, with not a lot of new, original elements. Despite all that, I did enjoy this for the most part. My biggest criticism(s) is the time it takes to get to the good stuff, and like I just said, not a lot of it feels new. But I love Zack’s style, and his focus on detail. The amount of Snyder Slo-Mo is a little overwhelming, but I love how you see so much with so little. I’m probably the outcast when it comes to liking all these things. The action in this was pretty good, especially the last 30ish minutes. I liked the color grading with the blasters and swords, which made for nice contrast. The stunts were pretty good, too. That’s really about it. Overall, I did like it, but I will agree some parts were bland and slow, and definitely a step down from the first movie. And it’s probably my least favorite Snyder movie, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s bad. I’d probably recommend it to certain sci-fi fans, and obviously if you liked the first one.
