X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
I can boldly say that this is one of the most underrated CBM’s I’ve seen. It’s definitely a small step down from the first three X-Men movies, but I enjoyed it. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is one of the greatest castings of all time, so seeing his beginnings was really cool and entertaining. I thought it started out a little confusing, but then immediately jumped into it in a Suicide Squad fashion. I also like how the movie obviously focuses on Wolverine, but also puts some other characters in the spotlight as well. Bringing in Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth was a smart decision, and I’ve always liked him (the actor, not necessarily the character). He does an awesome job of being completely unlikable. Also, Ryan Reynolds’ first appearance of Deadpool was decent, though not as good as I would have wanted. Oh, and Dominic freaking Monaghan? How cool was that? Yeah, he got done dirty, but it was still awesome to see him. Everyone fit into the story in a decent way, although there were some very obvious flaws and some crappy dialogue. I still loved it though. The action scenes were pretty cool, though they were over quickly, and felt very choppy. The editing was odd and confusing, but I tried to ignore it. Overall, I thought it was a pretty solid movie, and underrated. It definitely has some weak spots, but it provided a fun experience for me. I’d probably recommend it to most superhero fans.
