The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009)
The Human Centipede (First Sequence)
I really don’t have too much to say about this film. Going into it, I was expecting something crazily horrendous, but in all honesty, it wasn’t that bad. Yes, it’s grotesque and has many gross moments, but it was nowhere near as graphic as I thought it would be. I did feel uncomfortable for a chunk of it, but the characters all sucked, so I didn’t really feel bad for them at all. The acting was about what you’d expect from these types of horror films. I also think the structure of the film was very lazy and drawn out. It would’ve been a lot more effective as a short film, no longer than an hour. It’s not one that I enjoyed, but it’s not as bad as it’s made out to be. It’s one of those horror films that you would watch just to make fun of. And there’s two more Human Centipede’s to watch, so we’ll see how those hold up. I probably wouldn’t recommend this, unless you love B-horror films that make no sense and have zero substance.
