Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)
Halloween H20: 20 Years Later
Certainly a step up from Halloween 6, but still lacks a lot of shine and charm that the original ‘Halloween’ had. The return of Jamie Lee Curtis is obviously the big headline of the movie, as well as a great supporting cast. Acting wise, it wasn’t completely the best, but still some big names: Michelle Williams, Josh Hartnett, LL Cool J, the legendary Janet Leigh, and the impeccable JGL. It was cool seeing everyone team up in a single Halloween movie. But, despite the familiar faces, the story felt just the same as every other Halloween movie. Michael comes back, terrorizes some people, and that’s it. The shining moment is the face off between Laurie and Michael, but everything leading up to it was slow and didn’t feel new. It’s kind of sad. Just the same old same old. I did enjoy the kills and some of the suspense, and most of the chase scenes were fun. But most of the dialogue was corny, forced, and was just kind of blah. And that’s all I can say. To summarize, it felt like the previous four or five Halloween’s. It’s better than the previous movie, but still falls short. I don’t think I’d watch it again, nor would I recommend it.
