Ted (2012)
Ted
I don’t really have a huge amount to say about this film. Whatever I thought this would be, that’s what it was. I’ve seen plenty of small clips and moments from the two Ted films, and from what I saw, it was very humorous. But after watching it, I felt very underwhelmed. It was bad at all, it just wasn’t…..great. Kind of meh. The idea behind the story is definitely there, but I think it kind of runs its course after the first two acts. It started to feel old, though the last couple scenes were great. The absolute genius of the film is the vulgarity and raunchiness. Nobody would suspect a talking teddy bear would curse and take substances. Yet Ted does, and it’s hilarious. Seth McFarlane is also hilarious as Ted, and I enjoyed Mark Wahlberg as well. Neither of them are spectacular by themselves, but together, it is a great duo. And honestly, that’s about all I can say on this right now. I didn’t leave with anything super memorable. It was alright, but nothing crazy. Although I think on a rewatch, I would definitely like this more. It’s one that probably grows on you the more you see it. I’d recommend it if you like very raunchy comedies.
