My Friend Dahmer (2017)

My Friend Dahmer

  • Definitely a twisted and suspenseful movie, Ross Lynch gave a great performance as one of the most infamous serial killers of all time. Although the movie is pretty slow and kind of hard to sit through, it did a great job of portraying a troubled teen like Dahmer. I guess technically you could call it a biopic, but it doesn’t feel like one at all. Despite it being based on a real person, it still feels somewhat fictional, which gives it a very great feel. Like I said before, it felt almost suspenseful to me because you never knew when Dahmer was gonna snap, and it kept you holding your breath. The movie also does a good job because it is one of the rare films/documentaries that show you the killer before he becomes the actual killer. Overall, it was decently made. The music wasn’t really great at all, and to me, lots of the dialogue was kinda stupid and forced. But, Lynch makes up for that by perfectly portraying his mental troubles and struggles throughout the whole movie. I would recommend it to those who like true crime and history, but besides that, it’s not one that I would’ve felt bad if I’ve never seen it.
