The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
This movie was definitely disappointing, and although it was well made, I just didn’t like it. It was pretty boring to me, and I had a really hard time paying attention. It felt so drawn out, which is not what I was expecting. Although bits of it were several bits of the story that I enjoyed, the majority of it was just boring. Despite my personal disappointment for it, the movie was definitely well made. The story was thought out well and executed in a good way. Although I was bored, the story had a great set of characters and an interesting plot, along with an awesome setting. I loved all the characters, and the acting was incredible. I really liked Eli Wallach as Tuco, and I especially loved Clint Eastwood as Blondie. I’m really starting to get into Clint and his movies, and this movie has helped that. I loved every second that he was on screen. I also really liked Lee Van Cleef in this one, and he had the perfect feel for his character. The setting was great, and I like the different places you get to see in the movie. The music was absolutely phenomenal, and this is easily one of the best western soundtracks I’ve ever heard. It was exciting and mysterious, as well as having the classic western/cowboy feel. The main theme is great, and extremely iconic. The music was definitely the best part of the movie to me, and it helped give so much energy to certain scenes. However, despite the great acting, story, and music, I was still super bored, and I wasn’t very impressed. But, I definitely need to watch it again to see if I change my mind. I would still recommend it to western fans.
