Anchorman 2: The Legend Returns (2013)
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
Although still enjoyable and fun, this one was definitely not as good as the first. I still liked it, but I think a big chunk of the movie was a little harder to sit through. I also didn’t care for the story as much, even though bits and pieces of it were still really good. I liked watching Ron’s comeback story, which was a nice change from the first movie. It was also really fun to see the original news team reunite. However, I still wasn’t a huge fan of the rest of the plot, as it just kind of felt a bit repetitive. But all the characters were really great, and arguably even better in this movie. Personally, I think I enjoyed them more in the first movie, but the dialogue was still hilarious. The first movie is very hard to beat, but this one definitely had some scenes where I absolutely lost it. The bus ride scene was the best part of the whole movie, and I literally couldn’t hold anything in. The guys were freaking hilarious in that scene, and it was so great, I went back and watched it twice. All the characters were great, and obviously the return of the main four was the big point of the movie. But having Fred Willard and Christina Applegate come back was nice as well. I also love the entourage of cameos (spoilers ahead): awesome stars such as Will Smith, Liam Neeson, Jim Carrey, Harrison Ford, and John C. Reilly all make an appearance, which was so fun. Overall, this movie was good, and though I prefer the first movie, this one was still a fun watch. I’d recommend it to all comedy fans, but make sure to see the first movie.
