How to Train Your Dragon (2010)
How to Train Your Dragon
Definitely one of the most famous recent animated films, this is one that’s fun to watch and great for the family. It’s entertaining and has a great, light-hearted feel. Personally, it’s not one I would watch just to watch, but that’s because I’m not really a huge fan of animated/family films. The movie in itself is great, and I love all the different characters. They all have their own personalities and unique traits, which helps make the movie great. Each one is different, but they all have to learn to work together, which is awesome to watch. I also really love the setting, and the character’s home. I’m normally not a huge fan of Medieval/norse movies, but this one was fine with me. The village was its own separate place, which made the character’s independent. My favorite part of the story is not just the inclusion of the dragons, but the fight against them. I liked seeing how the townspeople train the younger ones to fight dragons, and it’s a story concept I’ve never seen. I also love the change of heart that the characters have during the movie. Going from fighting dragons to embracing them is a great thing to watch, and there are several heart-felt movies that help show how the dragons aren’t evil. Like I said, the whole story is great. The voice acting was really good, which helps give the character’s such great personalities. I loved how some of them had accents, while some were just regular. It was funny and humorous, as well as helping to establish connections with the characters. The music was great, and John Powell killed it with the score. There were fun, light-hearted parts, and then some that were climactic and helped enhance the dragon flight scenes. The animation was incredibly good, and the design of all the dragons were freaking amazing. Between all the dragons, you get cute, dangerous, rugged, passionate, etc. Each and every one has its own unique look, and they all have their own crazy personality. Toothless is obviously the most well known of the dragons, and to me, he’s one of the best fantasy creatures in any movie ever made. You absolutely fall in love with him, which I can say I definitely did. Overall, this movie is great, especially for those who love great animation and feel-good movies. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
