Beyond JFK: The Question of Conspiracy (1992)

Beyond JFK: The Question of Conspiracy

  • This was a documentary that focused on the making and effect of Oliver Stone’s film JFK. It was really interesting because it dived into the inspiration behind the film, as well as giving some different theories and explanations surrounding JFK’s assassination. As a JFK assassination nut, I loved seeing interviews with witnesses and the actors in the film. I really liked being able to see Oliver Stone, Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Jack Lemmon, Jim Garrison, and Walter Cronkite talk about the circumstances of the movie, as well as their roles. It’s cool to see their interest in the assassination. You’d be surprised by how effective the JFK film was, and it actually helped advance the JFK investigation. This documentary uses tons of news and assassination footage, which helps really show the impact that JFK’s death had on the American public. The insight given to you by this documentary really opens your eyes to the whole situation. The documentary also uses clips from the actual JFK film, so even if you haven’t seen it, you can still get the same experience. It’s also a documentary that pretty much stays strong from beginning to end. The telling of JFK’s story (both the movie and actual event) keeps you plugged in. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to those who love conspiracies and history. If you haven’t seen JFK, I would definitely watch that before seeing this, but if you don’t want to, it’s not a necessity. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
