Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
Freddy vs. Jason
Once again, Freddy Krueger was thrown into a horrible movie, but I actually enjoyed this immesnely more the second time. It's still not the best ever, but decently entertaining. The majority of this movie was extremely crappy, and most everything about it was pretty bad. The story was random, and I thought it was poorly written, but it had some fun moments. It didn’t seem to lead anywhere, and it was basically the same stuff happening on repeat. I wouldn’t say that it went circles, but that was essentially the feel of it. It can feel easy to get bored during the slow things, but when the action hits, it's pretty cool. I loved the idea of having Freddy being able to take on Jason, even though it was pointless, and definitely a waste of money. The movie doesn’t add anything to the characters or their backstories, so it felt like a lot of needless information. Some of the deaths were done really well, and the makeup/effects were pretty gnarly (but still cheesy). Even though the makeup was good for the most part, the CGI wasn't good. You could tell this was an early 2000’s movie, and it was just downright bad. The final fight between Freddy and Jason was actually pretty cool though, and the props and sets department did a good job on livening it up. Overall, this movie isn't well made, but I still enjoy it a fair amount. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it unless you like iconic showdowns, or you're watching the FT13 or NOES franchises.
