Rango (2011)
Rango
This is legitimately one of the best animated films I’ve ever seen, and it EASILY makes my top 5 in great animated films, as well as my top 5 favorites. I have always heard favorable comments and reviews about this movie, but oh my gosh. I didn’t realize how good this movie was. I have very few complaints about it, and except for one or two scenes, I enjoyed every second of it. The story was extremely entertaining, and it was constantly throwing in twists and turns. It adds a great mysterious feel to it, while still being playful and constantly having something to laugh at. It was such a light-hearted movie, although there were still some serious and almost dark moments. And the characters were absolutely amazing. I don’t have a single complaint about any of them, and all of their looks and personalities were amazing. I really loved all the diverse animals, as you got to see a bunch of different species. All of their outfits were spot on, and helped give the movie the western tone it has for most of the movie. I also really, really liked Johnny Depp as Rango. His voice is absolutely perfect, and he’s able to really push his feelings into each line he speaks. The music was fabulous, and Hans Zimmer, once again, comes up with another beauty of a score. Like the story, the score has a playful feel, and the music definitely helps advance the story, as well as the characters feelings. But easily the best part of the movie was the animation. It was super good, and actually pretty realistic in a few scenes. It was just so mesmerizing and stunning. Overall, I would highly recommend this to everyone, whether you like animated movies or not. It’s just so fun and entertaining, as well as keeping you pulled in with a beautifully written story. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
