It's What's Inside (2024)
It’s What’s Inside
This is easily one of the more complex films I’ve seen from 2024. I have so many thoughts and mind problems right now, that I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to write this. I think I’ll keep it shorter than usual, purely because I simply can’t put into words how to describe this film. Story-wise, it’s very…..intricately written. I can’t say why, for spoiler reasons, and simply because….I can’t. I literally can’t describe how the story works. It feels very scattered at times, but also, I was still caught up with what was happening. There’s great twists and turns all throughout, which sometimes makes it confusing, but adds a lot of suspense, drama, and tension. And that’s all I can say about the story. You’ll have to see this for yourself to understand. The characters were decently written but didn’t jump out too much, and the performances were alright. Nothing super crazy, but still very believable. The cinematography, lighting, and colors were great, and helped build on the surreal feeling of the film. The score was strong, with lots of use of Beethoven, which I was very happy about. Overall, this film is definitely one that you have to pay attention to and use your mind strongly. I think on a rewatch, I’ll enjoy it much more, and my understanding of it will definitely boost. It’s a solid film, though the structure feels extremely crammed and not a lot of room to breathe. But I’d recommend it to most fans of psychological thrillers. And I’ll come back to it at some point in the future.
