Midsommar (2019)
Midsommar
There are only two other movies that have ever given me the feeling this one gave me: Skinamarink and Sinister. And the feeling I’m talking about is this: my heart was racing, I was very fidgety, and my arms and legs were weak. I mean, I was just so nervous and disturbed. It’s definitely one of the most disturbing and unsettling movies I’ve ever watched. It’s Ari Aster at his finest. The whole thing was just so good, from the very beginning to the end. In a way, it’s somewhat what you’d expect, but in other ways, it totally catches you off guard. There are so many twists and turns that smack you in the face, which is what gives you the uneasy feeling. Even when nothing was happening, I was still just so on edge. The plot was awesome, as it takes a little bit of truth and mixes it in with the unexpected. It feels very realistic for the most part, which helps make it worse than it already is. The cast also does a really great job with adding to the emotion. Florence Pugh was the highlight for me, though I am slightly biased because of my monster crush on her. I also really liked seeing Will Poulter. There’s a whole lot more I wanna say, but I’ll keep my mouth zipped. I definitely don’t wanna ruin your experience with this movie if you choose to watch it, which I recommend. Cause believe me, it will creep you out. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
