The Exorcist III (1990)
The Exorcist III
Although this has a good Letterboxd score, I simply did not like this. And I mean, did NOT like this one. It was almost as bad as the second movie, but nothing will reach that level of gross. This one was definitely a step up from the previous movie, but ick. I really don’t understand why everyone likes it. However, there are a couple little things I can compliment. The story was decently written, with some exciting scenes and lots of questions to ask. The detective storyline can be interesting for some, but it just kept losing me in so many places. Not that it was super confusing (it was a tiny bit), but I just couldn’t keep attention. It was super slow. Look at that, my positive note turned negative. That’s cause this movie sucks. Another positive thing was how most of it was very psychological, rather than having to rely on jumpscares or crazy demon horror. The acting was also pretty good. The performance from Brad Dourif especially was very noteworthy. Plus, seeing Jason Miller again was sweet. Overall, this movie was trash, and I hated it. Like I’ve said, there’s a couple good things, but for me personally, I just couldn't sit through it. The only time I would recommend it is if you’re watching your way through the franchise.
