The Pope's Exorcist (2023)
The Pope’s Exorcist
This movie had basically the same feel as The Conjuring, just with some added backstory and history. It basically felt like every other exorcist movie, although this one is probably one of my favorites. I think if Russell Crowe wasn’t in it, then I wouldn’t have been such a huge fan. He just brought so much feel to his role, both serious and some slight comedic relief. He’s literally the perfect exorcist. The whole story is pretty bland, as it’s the regular “show up to the house and perform the exorcism on the child” ordeal. However, it throws in a little more than you bargained for. I won’t say what it is, for spoiler reasons. But plot-wise, it’s nothing you haven’t seen before. I thoroughly enjoyed the effects and makeup for all the possessed. It made the characters so creepy and terrifying. Although I really liked this movie, I can’t really think of much more to write about, so I’ll leave it here. I would recommend this movie to all horror fans, though the story is bland (but still exciting). This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
