I grew up watching the old Superman TV series with George Reeves, so being able to watch a movie about his death and the circumstances surrounding it was a real privilege. Ben Affleck was the absolute perfect casting for George Reeves. Ben was such a great physical match for George, and I was absolutely amazed by how well he fit the role. His hair, clothes, and mannerisms were spot on. The rest of the cast was really great as well, and both Adrien Brody and Diane Lane did an awesome job. The overall story and plot was really great, and it definitely keeps you hooked. Watching a movie/documentary about a mysterious death is always interesting, but the way this movie portrayed it was really unique. It showed the three different ways Reeves’s death could’ve happened, and I like how you get to physically see every possibility. Watching all the events of his death unfold around you is really intriguing, and it gets you thinking about what actually happened. To this day, nobody knows what actually happened, and this movie does a fantastic job of exploring each possibility. It opens up a whole world of conspiracy and mystery, which is fun to think about. The setting was really good, and the movie does a great job of fixing itself in that time period. I also really liked seeing the behind-the-scenes production of the Superman show, and since I grew up watching it, it was especially cool for me. The music was also extremely good, and there were several really good themes. Some of it sounds a bit noir-ish, which perfectly fits the feel of the movie. There was also a scene with a great string arraignment that was accompanied by a blues-y trumpet. Overall, this movie was great, and I would definitely recommend it if you like mystery/conspiracy/historical movies. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
