Twilight (2008)
Twilight
To be honest, the only reason I’m working my way through the Twilight Saga is solely for Robert Pattinson. If he wasn’t in them, then I wouldn’t give them a second thought. Therefore, I really didn’t care too much for this one, except for the presence of, of course, Rob. Now I did mildly enjoy the story, and I love the whole fantasy concept. It’s a very nice change from previous romance movies. I think it’s a great blend between reality and fantasy. Of course, a few things don’t make much sense, but it’s fine. To me, the movie definitely felt a bit slow, which I think is both bad, but also good. It makes you curious about what’s to come in the following movies. It was a good introduction to the characters. Speaking of characters, I didn’t really like any of them, except for Edward, Bella, and a few other Cullens. Everyone else kind of reeked. The acting definitely felt very corny. Some of it was decent, but a lot was forced and straight cringey. And on the topic of cringey, that baseball scene was so hard to sit through. It was pretty laughable. Overall, this movie isn’t super great, though there are some good things. I’d probably only recommend it if you love romance and fantasy, especially when they’re mixed. Even though this isn’t the best movie ever made, I’m definitely excited for the next ones and what they lead to. #TeamEdward
