All Good Things (2010)
All Good Things
Based on Robert Durst and his crimes, I can promise you that this movie isn’t what you’d expect. It’s not anything super crazy, but it definitely goes in a direction that is unpredictable. I very much enjoyed Daddy Gosling’s portrayal, as well as Kirsten Dunst’s. As it’s based on true events, it leads to have a more realistic feel than most mysteries do. In a way, it almost feels like a documentary, though definitely with way more drama. The story was easy to follow along with, although if you look away for a few minutes, you’d probably miss something. It also takes place over several years, but it flows well. To me, it felt similar to the structure of J. Edgar, so if you’ve seen that, then you’ll know what I mean. As I said, I enjoyed the portrayals, and though they are based on real people, Gosling and Dunst still make their characters their own. It was also nice to see Nick Offerman, who I had no idea was in this. So it was a mild but awesome surprise. The music was pretty good, and it added a mysterious vibe to an already mysterious movie. It wasn’t anything special, but it still stood out. Overall, this was a pretty good movie. The nice thing about it is that even though the events are placed right in front of you, you still don’t know who to trust or believe. I would recommend it to all mystery/crime/drama fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
