Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
Spider-Man: Far From Home
The first time I saw this movie, I pretty much hated it, and I couldn’t stand it one bit. However, after watching it again, I absolutely love it. I can’t tell you why, but the second time, it was so much better, and I think I appreciate the work and visuals way more than I did before. The first time, I didn’t care for the story at all, and I hated the whole “school trip in Europe” thing. But now, I really like it, and like some of the previous Marvel movies, it’s a nice change of pace. The overall story is great, and I like some of the subject matter in this movie. Even though you have the common hero vs villain storyline, I also like how it takes a look at Peter’s personal life. He’s young and in school, so I like seeing his romantic interests and trying to get a girl’s attention. It really humanizes him, and you forget he’s a superhero sometimes. It shows how though someone might have superpowers, they are still like us, and this movie does a great job of showing that. The movie continues doing a great job of showing Peter’s dual lives, and like Homecoming, it shows how he has to live and protect his secret. It also does a good job of showing how to cope with loss, and how to keep someone’s legacy alive. The acting in this movie is pretty top notch, especially Jake Gyllenhaal. He literally has one of the best comic book villain performances I’ve seen, and I wouldn’t want anybody else in that role. His back and forth between personalities is extremely well done. He does a phenomenal job of luring you into a false sense of security, and then pulling your heart out in almost an awesome way. The music was amazingly awesome, and Michael Giacchino continues to do a flipping amazing job. The main theme is so fun to hear, and it brings a great feel to the entire movie. The last thing I’ll mention, and the best part of the movie, is all the stunning visuals constantly present. I’d say this is easily one of the most visually pleasing and intriguing movies I’ve ever seen. The cinematography is really great, and the effects and CGI are spot on. I’m not gonna specifically say what impressed me the most (spoilers), but there is a certain scene where I was absolutely absorbed. Overall, this movie is really good, and a great follow-up to Homecoming. I would definitely recommend it to all Marvel/superhero fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
