Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
I don’t care what the critics say, this is a good movie. I think that the first movie *just* barely passes this one as my favorite of the three, but Quantumania was such an awesome theater experience. The fact that it only has a 48% on Rotten Tomatoes completely baffles me. It just goes to show that critics don’t know how to have fun while watching a movie. I know there were a lot of complaints that the CGI was shoddy and too much, which I agree with, to an extent. I definitely think it’s a bit of a CGI overload, which for me, usually isn’t a good thing. However, I really liked it in this case, except for a few moments. I thought the quantum realm just looked so awesome. It had a great space looking theme, which gave it somewhat of a Star Wars effect. I also really loved the design of all the characters. Some of them were a little weird, but most of them just looked awesome. I think with the movie as a whole, it was a mix of three things: Marvel meets Star Wars meets Doctor Who. Just the whole vibe and design of the movie was so cool to see. Character wise, they were all awesome, especially Kang the Conqueror. Jonathan Majors did such an amazing job, and I immediately fell in love with that variant of him. I also really liked MODOK, though he looked really odd. All the performances were so spot on, and Rudd and Pfeiffer stood out to me. The score was really good, and it also had a Star Wars-y tone to it, which helped match the setting. Overall, this movie was pretty great, and I don’t care what the critics say. It’s fun and entertaining, with great characters and such a unique setting. I’d recommend it to all MCU fans, and obviously if you’re an Ant-Man fan. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
