Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)

Mission: Impossible - Fallout

  • Wow. Just wow. Out of all the films in this series, this one is definitely my favorite, and I believe it’s also the best one that we’ve gotten so far. I enjoyed almost every second of this film, and I really loved the story. I love how they brought Solomon Lane back, and he somehow feels even more psychopathic than he was in the previous movie. Somehow beards make villains feel more villain-y, and with Solomon having a beard in this one, he feels like the ultimate villain. I also liked how they brought Julia back, and it helped clear up a lot of backstory that we didn’t see. The opening of the movie was insanely good, and it’s one of my favorite opening scenes I’ve seen in a long time. The first 15 minutes of the movie were incredible, and everything that happens before the opening credits is so fun to watch. The rest of the movie was incredibly great as well. The best part of the whole thing was easily Henry Cavill. He was the best character of the whole movie, and though I was disappointed on how he turned out, I still really really loved him. He’s an absolute hunk of a man with a mighty mustache. I can’t describe how much I enjoyed watching him on-screen, and he stole every shot he was in. The bathroom fight scene was one of the coolest and best shot action scenes of all time, and I loved it so much, I rewatched it 3 times before I continued the movie. The whiteness of the bathroom walls/decor contrasted with the dark suits of the guys was spectacular. The whole sequence was really well planned, and it was one of the most enjoyable scenes I’ve ever watched. Watching Cruise fight a guy is fun, but throw in Cavill, and you got yourself a show. When Cavill takes off his jacket and pumps up/reloads his biceps, I get absolute chills, and it’s definitely one of the best on-screen moments in cinema history. Anyways, the rest of the cast and movie is great as well. The whole “nuclear bomb” scenario was super thrilling and suspenseful, and it actually feels pretty realistic in some scenes. The helicopter chase scene was insanely awesome, and felt very Rambo-esque. It was very well shot, and super intense. The score was extremely well done, and this is probably my favorite score of all the movies in this series. There was one scene in particular where there was a bunch of action and shooting going on, but it was completely silent except for the music. It was a beautiful yet tragic moment, and my mind was basically blown. Overall, this is definitely the greatest movie in this series, and easily my favorite. I would highly recommend it to any and all action fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
