Killers of the Flower Moon
Scorsese strikes again with another beautiful picture. I remember earlier this year when there wasn’t even a release date for this movie, and I wondered what was gonna happen with it. Now having seen it, I can definitely say it was worth the wait. It’s based on true events, which makes it even better. If anybody is good at taking a true story and putting it into a movie, it’s Scorsese. I don’t wanna say too much about the story, for spoiler reasons. There’s not that much to spoil, but it’s nice to be able to watch this without knowing too much. It was very intriguing, even though the pacing was extremely slow. Actually, that’s my only complaint about this movie. It felt way too long for its own good. Some long movies, like ‘Oppenheimer’, are very long, but also move forward at a face past. This one doesn’t do that. It’s very drawn out, and there were several parts where I zoned out a little bit. It just kind of kept going and going and going. Besides that, I absolutely loved this movie. The performances were all outstanding, with some very strong supporting roles. Robert De Niro did absolutely fantastic, and even in his age, he still shows that he’s one of the greatest actors to ever live. Lily Gladstone also did a really good job, but the real star was Leonardo DiCaprio. He delivered one of my favorite performances of his. His accent was sometimes a tiny bit forced, but overall, it was fantastic. It was also nice to see Brendan Fraser for a few minutes. Overall, this movie was slow, but still very interesting. It provides a good look into true events, as well as a educational portrayal of the Osage tribe. Plus, this movie has one of my favorite movie endings I’ve ever seen. I’d definitely recommend this if you like drama and crime from a historical basis. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
