The Flash (Season 2) (2015-2016)
The Flash (Season 2)
This season was just as good as the first, and even better. Enjoyment-wise, it really sucks you in and keeps your attention the entire time, much like the first. I love how the storyline continues, but it throws in some new conflict into the mix. It gives it a central antagonist (Zoom is AWESOME) with some pretty exciting action. It wasn’t as scattered as the first season was, which is why I think this one was better than the first. It was consistently strong in its story and advancement of the characters. I’m continuing to freaking love Grant Gustin as Barry. At this point, I think Ezra Miller is still my favorite, but Grant is a SUPER close second (probably 51% Ezra and 49% Grant). He brings so much raw emotion to the role. It creates the right amount of drama which still keeps the colorful feel that the show needs. I also really love the introduction of Jay Garrick and Wally West. Not only does it take The Flash back to its roots, but it creates lots of friction. The music still remains awesome, and probably my favorite music from the Arrowverse. The effects have gotten slightly better, though there are still some shots that are kind of laughable. I love the orange/blue lightning that’s present throughout the season. The show is still on pace to become one of my favorite shows of all time, and I constantly want to see more and more. Overall, this season was fantastic. I think the first is still my favorite, but this one was better made. I’d definitely recommend it to all superhero/DC fans, though make sure to be caught up in the Arrowverse. This season is officially “Barry” Approved, so go watch it now!
