Fracture (2007)
Fracture
Honestly, I wasn’t as big a fan of this as I thought I would be. It was still good, and pretty enjoyable throughout, but I don’t think it’s one I would’ve seen if it wasn’t for Father Gosling. However, it has a very intriguing and progressive story. There were many pieces to the puzzle. It was fun to try to figure out the different clues, which had me stumped throughout most of the movie. The ending has a good reveal of what happened, but of course I can’t say more than that. Like I said, the story was great, and I like the way it builds from the beginning. There were definitely a couple small parts that didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but not enough to make it bad. Anthony Hopkins and Father Gosling do a great job, but I wasn’t too impressed with everyone else. They were alright, but didn’t add much. The thing I loved the most was the music. The score was just so suspenseful and ominous. To me, it gave off some really great Hitchcock vibes, much like Psycho or North by Northwest. It sets the mood beautifully. Overall, it’s a decent watch, with a fun plot and a satisfying ending. I’d recommend it if you love courtroom dramas (with a sprinkle of comedy).
