Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995)
Die Hard with a Vengeance
Definitely a step up from the second movie, this one was more entertaining, along with a better story. It definitely kept me way more invested, and although there were a few scenes that felt boring and drawn out, it was still pretty entertaining. This movie was better than the previous one because it had a much better story. The first two movies of the series were all about terrorists, and although this movie kind of goes that route, it has a villain that really stands out. It’s not just a group of terrorists trying to wreak havoc, but someone who enjoys playing mind games. Because of that, it has a great psychological spin to it. It reminds me a lot of Se7en and The Batman in terms of antagonists. It’s always really fun having a villain who leaves clues for the heroes. Speaking of heroes, Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson was awesome in this movie. They did a great job, and I’m especially glad that Samuel’s character was added. He put a slight comedic spin on the movie, and although there wasn’t a lot of comedy, his line deliveries and dialogue were really good. Jeremy Irons as Simon was an extremely great casting, and he does a fantastic job of being this movie’s antagonist. I also love how (spoiler) he’s Hans’ brother, and it gives McClane a personal reason to take him down. It was a great addition to the story, and I’m happy they did it. The effects were really good in this one, and there were several moments that amazed me. It’s always fun to watch things get destroyed, and this movie didn’t disappoint. The action sequences were great, and I definitely enjoyed them. However, despite the great action, there were several scenes that felt pretty slow, and I did get bored just a little. But overall, this was a fun action movie, and I’d recommend it. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
