Ricky Stanicky (2024)

I was decently excited for this movie, and I can’t say I was disappointed. It certainly wasn’t anything groundbreaking, but it did a great job of being funny while still delivering a touching story. I hadn’t actually heard much about this movie until a month or two ago, and ever since then, I’ve been looking forward to it big time. The cast alone was enough to get me into it: Zac Efron, Andrew Santino, and John Cena. That’s all I need to be happy. Side note, it was super cool seeing Santino star alongside those big names. He’s such a great comedian and one of the funniest people I’ve seen. For me, he was the funniest character of the movie, and his line deliveries were great. It’s just too bad that Bobby Lee didn’t have a cameo. Anyways, all the characters were decent, though nothing special. Efron, Santino, and Cena were the obvious standouts. They all contribute to the story in a fun way, while still having a few nice little moments between them. I liked the ending and how it all worked out for everyone. It was cool how Rod and the guys started out as strangers, and by the end, they were all best buds. The chemistry was hilarious. The whole movie was hilarious. A little crude at times, but that’s what was expected. Overall, this movie was dumb but works out nicely, and I liked it. It’s not one I see myself watching again for quite awhile, but it’s enjoyable and provides lots of laughs. I’d recommend it to all comedy fans.
