A Christmas Story Christmas (2022)
A Christmas Story Christmas
The sequel to the infamous Christmas movie, I wasn’t super enthused when this first came out. It felt a bit unnecessary to me, and I wasn’t sure if it was the best way to keep the legacy of A Christmas Story alive. But, after watching this, I’m really glad I did. I still think it wasn’t needed, and it felt like it was probably made just to keep the nostalgic feeling going. It’s not like it adds anything special to Ralphie’s story, but it was still a good continuation. I really like how several members of the original cast came back, and it was great to see Ralphie, Randy, Flick, Schwartz, and Scut. That’s what I mean when I said that it felt just for nostalgia, because those who grew up watching A Christmas Story get to see the reunion. Although the movie had a somewhat original story, a lot of it almost recreated several scenes from the original movie, which I actually liked. There were a lot of similar shots, and if you stay for the end credits, it actually shows the comparisons of the shots. I like how it borrows and builds on the same themes used from the original. It also keeps Ralphie’s narration as part of the story, which was really great. The movie has a great message, and I really loved the ending. I won’t say how it ends, but it pays homage to the original film, and it was the perfect ending to the movie. Overall, this was pretty good, and though it probably didn’t need to be made, I’m still glad it did. I would definitely recommend it if you’ve seen A Christmas Story. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
