King Kong (1933)
King Kong
This is such a classic movie, and it actually turned out to be better than I thought it would be. Although it was 1933, the effects and stop-motion that they used to make the prehistoric monsters was really good, and it actually helped transform special effects after this movie. For its time, it revolutionized the special effects of its time, which is why this movie is often considered so good. I would easily watch this one again, and I enjoyed the plot very much. The music was pretty cool, and it definitely added to each scene where the action was intense. The other thing I liked was how dark it was for its time. They mostly used mannequins and little clay figures for the bodies that were tossed or picked up, and when they were tossed or thrown, they landed on the ground and kind of became distorted. Although it wasn’t graphic the slightest bit, it still seemed a little dark for a 1933 film (cheesy, but dark). I would most definitely recommend this one for film lovers, and I will definitely watch it again. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
