The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (2023)
The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar
Wes Anderson is one of the greatest directors of our time, and he doesn’t even need a full length feature film to prove it. It’s only 39 minutes, but it’s everything you could want it to be. The story is fast paced and at a constant rate of fluid motion (if that makes sense). It keeps you entertained and always sucked in. Even for it’s runtime, it packs in so much information and detail. The acting was AMAZING, with very solid performances from Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fiennes, and of course, Benedict Cumberbatch. Benedict does such a ridiculous job, and you come to love and trust him. Man, this is good. The music was so peaceful but still intriguing, so it draws you in to wondering what’s gonna happen next. And like always, the cinematography and Wes Anderson style is so on point. Every frame could be put on a wall, and the vivid colors are eye popping and just enchanting. Overall, this short movie is perfect in every way possible, and I can’t wait to see the next three upcoming short films done by Wes. He is seriously one of my favorite directors ever, and one of the best of ALL FREAKING TIME. This film is officially Berry Approved, and if you have Netflix, go watch this NOW!
