What If...? (Season 2) (2023)
What If…? (Season 2)
This show follows in the steps of ‘Loki’ by having the second season be a tiny downgrade, but still be amazing. I really loved the first season of this show, so I had super high expectations for the second season. I’m not saying in any way that I was disappointed, because I wasn’t. I totally loved it. But it doesn’t have the same feel as the first season. I think the biggest reason was because of how special the first is, in terms of originality, storytelling, and how unique it is. The second is still awesome, with an absolutely fantastic season finale (one of my new favorite season finales of all time). It’s just that it felt like a continuation of the first season, rather than trying to build anything new or different. Again, not a bad thing at all. That’s just the reason why I liked the first season better. I do love the way that all these episodes are different and standalone, though at the very end, they connect in a way you don’t expect. Like I said, one of my new all time favorite season finales. Maybe even one of my all time favorite TV episodes, period. The one where Happy saves Christmas was also really great. The mix of characters is crazy good, and I love the sole focus on Captain Carter. The animation is really good again, especially in the later part of the show. It only gets better as it goes on. It’s just such a solid season. I’d recommend it to all MCU fans, and especially if you enjoyed the first season. This season is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
