The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
Ugh. How do you go from the greatest horror movie ever made, to this? In the conversation of “not every movie needs a sequel”, I’d like to present this movie as the best example why that statement is true. This taints the first movie so much in the sense of showing what’s happening with the characters. It takes away the element of mystery and wonder, and just ruins it. I know this movie has somewhat grown a cult following, much like the first one, but I don’t understand how. Personally, I didn’t like it, except for a few parts. The satirical style that it was filmed in was garbage, and like I said, it tarnishes the legacy of the first one in my opinion. The story wasn’t great at all, and it just seems funny that twelve years after the first movie, somebody sat down and wrote a script for this. I did like the setting, but there were times I just wanted to turn it off because I didn’t want to finish it. I wasn’t a fan of the characters either, even the ones that return from the first film. I mean, it was really cool to see Leatherface again, but even he sucked at times. It’s just painful to think of how everyone was basically ruined from this. I don’t really wanna think about this movie anymore, so I’ll leave it here. Overall, it sucked, although there were a few parts I enjoyed. I probably wouldn’t recommend this, and who knows if I’ll watch it again. We’ll see.
