Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013)
Texas Chainsaw 3D
So, once again, this is another garbage entry in the TCM franchise. I think the critics were being just a tiny bit too harsh on this one, but it’s still pretty bad. Whenever Leatherface was present (or really any kind of action) I was tuned in, and there were some pretty fun scenes. However, all the other scenes were just pointless. The whole movie was. I did like how it’s directly connected to the first movie, even though it’s set in 2012. It expands on Leatherface and the Sawyer family history, but not much else. It’s just another Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I’m really running out of things to write for these movies, cause so many of my reviews have been similar. That’s because all these movies are basically the same, including this one. It’s just Leatherface going ham on some people, with some family drama provided by Alexandra Daddario. That’s about all there is to it. I liked Leatherface’s design, and he kind of re-adapts his old look from the first movie. Most of his kills were fun, with lots of blood and gore that usually looked good. However, there were several spots where the CGI and special effects were extremely obvious. Overall, the movie isn’t very good, but still provides some fun chases and whatnot. Plus, the post credit is funny. Probably not one I’d recommend, but I may revisit it in the future.
