Run. (2020)
Run.
I guess this is technically the sequel to ‘Searching’, although there aren’t any actual connections with both storylines. It’s kind of nice that way, because even though they’re in the same series, you can watch any of them without needing information from the other movies. This is definitely a great standalone sequel. Unfortunately, it didn’t feel as original as ‘Searching’ did, and I’ll tell you why (slight spoilers ahead). Although it was fun, exciting, and definitely stressful, it felt a lot like ‘Misery’, or some of the documentaries or series about Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her mother. This movie has a concept that I’ve definitely seen before, so it wasn’t anything new. However, it was still pretty awesome. Besides the whole “mother controls her daughter”, I won’t talk about the plot. It’s definitely not one you need to know about before watching it, because of the amount of stress it induces. Sarah Paulson definitely helps provide those crazy emotions. She’s one of the scariest women I’ve seen on screen in recent times. She was really, really good at being evil while still seeming innocent in her own mind. It was almost horrifying. Overall, this movie wasn’t anything groundbreaking or new, but I still enjoyed myself a pretty good amount. I’d definitely recommend this if you like stressful and/or psychological movies. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
