Talk to Me (2023)
Talk to Me
This movie was, to say the least…interesting. In a really good way, that is. It was such a trippy movie that had some awesome twists and turns. The entire concept was really great, although I felt like it took several minutes to really get into it. I think that’s the only big problem I had with this. Despite it only being an hour and a half, it still felt kind of long in multiple spots. There were some weird scenes that took too long and felt out of place. I guess the pacing just felt slightly off, although the last half of the movie was amazing. There was a certain point where it really picked up and was such a fun rollercoaster till the end. The last couple minutes were the best of the whole movie. The ending left me shocked, with my eyes wide open. It’s horror done correctly. It was original and unique. The whole story is somewhat what you’d expect, although you’re constantly being surprised. I wasn’t a super huge fan of the acting, cause it felt just a little stale. However, Sophie Wilde absolutely KILLED it. She was the very obvious spotlight of the movie. Every second she was on screen, she just radiated great (and also bad) energy. I also want to give a huge tip of the cap to the makeup department. Their work on the possessed, the dead, and especially Riley was super good. It gives the movie such a realistic vibe. Lastly, the cinematography was supreme. So many shots were just awesome, with freaking cool angles and sweet lighting. Overall, this movie was great, though several spots felt kind of boring. I’d definitely recommend it to all horror/supernatural fans. And be careful who your friends are. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
