Sisu (2023)
Sisu
Take John Wick, John Rambo, Indiana Jones, and roll them up into one. You get Aatami Korpi, who is one of the coolest movie characters I’ve seen in a long time. Jorma Tommila does a knockout job, and I love how he doesn’t need to speak to communicate. His icy stare is just so menacing. The movie is pretty simple and to the point, which I really, really liked. Normally, the longer the movie, the better. But in this case, I liked how it was only 91 minutes. It doesn’t give you too much to think about, because it’s short and sweet. The story is also very simple, though still packed full of fun details. Even though it was well written, it was basically just an action movie designed for gore fans. Nothing felt super original, but it was still pretty fun. I thought the scenes in between the action bits were a tiny bit slow, but I think that was just me. The soundtrack was really good, with intense, dramatic sound that really boosts the whole feel of the movie. The action, stunts, and choreography was peak, which leads to a very entertaining experience. I also loved all the effects, blood, and guts (and that landmine scene will forever be remembered by me). Overall, this movie was fun, and pretty well made. I’d definitely recommend it to all action/war fans, especially if you like movies like John Wick or the Rambo franchise. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
