DC's Legends of Tomorrow (Season 1) (2016)
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Season 1)
Despite this being a tiny step down from Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, it’s still a fun show. The cool thing about it is how it grabs characters from both Arrow and The Flash, and throws them into one show/plot. You get to see their own journeys. I love how the show also doesn’t necessarily rely on Arrow or The Flash to make sense. It splits off into its own storyline. It’s pretty well written, and the time travel aspect doesn’t get super confusing (like many shows/movies do). Sometimes time travel can feel overused, but I like the way it’s done in this season. It keeps things alive and interesting. However, to me, the episodes are hit or miss. There are some really good ones, and others that were just boring. For the most part, it’s great, though not always consistent. The characters are always great in each one, though. I had no clue that Arthur Darvill was in this, so I was STOKED to see him show up (I really love him from Doctor Who). I’m also glad to see more screentime/character expansion for Firestorm, Ray, Heat Wave, and Captain Cold. Everybody adds a cool piece to the puzzle. All the effects were decently solid, though much like Supergirl and The Flash, they are sometimes shoddy. But for the most part, they were good for its time. I love the music too, which adds excitement and a cool sci-fi feel. Overall, this season was pretty good, though sometimes slow. I’m definitely looking forward to more in the future (pun intended). This season is officially Berry Approved, so go check it now!
