• Yikes, this was awful. When I saw the 5% on Rotten Tomatoes, I didn’t think this would be that bad. But yeah, it was pretty bad. It’s definitely not a Christmas movie that was festive and put me in a good mood. It just sucked. The whole thing felt like a mess. I do like the direction that the story started to go in, but after a few minutes, it fell apart and just became really cringey and dumb. It’s one of those movies where it felt like there were no more Christmas ideas left, so this movie was the outcome. The characters were downright awful, although I did like some of the cast. They were all so obnoxious and added very little to the movie or Christmas feel. As much as I like Tim Allen, even he was horrible in this. That goes for Jamie Lee Curtis as well. I did like seeing Erik Per Sullivan, which was a nice surprise. But Tom Poston reigns above all. That man is a legend, and he will never be forgotten. He was one of the only few bright spots of the movie. Overall, it sucks, and probably not one I’ll rewatch. I wouldn’t recommend it, either.
