• This was such a ridiculous movie, but man was it funny. I’ve never really heard of it until I watched this, so I would definitely classify it as one of those 90s comedies that go underlooked. Yeah, it’s stupid, but it’s so bad it’s funny. Well, I wouldn’t really say it’s bad, but you know what I mean. The level of cheesiness that’s just too good. Think of this movie as ‘Full Metal Jacket’ but with a bunch of kids. It has that same mood, obviously because of the army/drill sergeant setting. It’s a good movie to take both seriously and comedically. Damon Wayans did a fantastic job with his role, as well as the screenplay. It was a great script, although the dialogue was sometimes cringey. The way Major Payne threw insults was absolutely hilarious. His high pitched voice and his demeanor was perfect. That’s about all I can say about this movie. It’s sometimes a tiny bit hard to sit through, but it was really funny. I’d definitely recommend it to most comedy fans.
