Doctor Who (Seasons 11-13) (2018-2022)
Doctor Who (Seasons 11-13)
I didn’t realize at all how good these seasons would be. Before watching them, I wasn’t a huge fan of the direction of the show, so I was very skeptical. However, I was greatly surprised by how much I enjoyed these episodes. Not that I expected them to be bad, I just wasn’t super excited. But I’m so glad that Jodie Whittaker took over as the Doctor. She absolutely killed it. It was a little weird seeing a woman in the role, seeing as the Doctor has been a man since the show started in 1963. It took some adjusting, but I was extremely glad she was the one that was cast. It was such a nice change, and the joy and fun that was brought to the role was overwhelming. The companions were amazing as well. I still haven’t seen a companion that I’ve disliked. Graham, Ryan, and Yaz were the trifecta of these seasons, and the episodes simply wouldn’t have been as good as they were without them. It was also really nice seeing more than one companion at once in the TARDIS. I do have one issue, though: the storyline. Seasons 11 and 12 were awesome, and I have very few complaints about them. However, Season 13, otherwise known as Flux, wasn’t great. It just felt so confusing and too…scattered. That’s sometimes the point of the show, but the majority of it just didn’t work out for me. It was more of a season where I would watch it while doing something, rather than directly watching it. Season 13 causes a major hit on both the Movie and Enjoyment Score. But besides that, the 13th Doctor’s era was fantastic and entertaining. Plus, the final episode was absolutely amazing, with an EXTREMELY promising future. As much as I loved Jodie, I’m super excited to be able to experience David (again), and of course, Ncuti. Here’s to a promising future! These seasons are officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
