The Rat Catcher (2023)
The Rat Catcher
Ladies and gentlemen, Wes Anderson. You know, he should be given a title or something. King Wes? Actually, I like that. That’s his new name. King Wes. Of course, I call him that because he’s the King of Cinema. And after watching this one, it only solidifies that claim. I really loved this one, though not as much as the first two short films. However, it’s still just as perfect in every way. Like the other reviews for the first two short films, I’m not gonna say much, cause you just need to see it for yourself. The narration/acting of the film gives you exactly what you want, while still forcing you to use your imagination. It’s both subject and objective. Absolutely perfect. The cast is familiar yet still new at the same time. Rupert Friend, Ralph Fiennes, and Richard Ayoade all steal the spotlight. The cinematography and visuals are stunning as always. And the best part of the whole 17 minute movie is only 30ish seconds long (if that), but just genius and beautiful. I won’t say what it is. But it involves something furry. Anyways, this movie is perfect, and a great continuation of the Roald Dahl adaptations. All hail King Wes. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch this RIGHT NOW!
