Buried (2010)
Buried
One of the most insane movies I’ve ever seen, this was super intense and suspenseful, and it is about as close to perfect as you can get. From the opening to the end, every single second was packed full of edge-of-your-seat moments. The opening credits started out very Hitchcock-esque. The opening theme also sounded somewhat Jaws-y with some Psycho in there, and it was really good. The entire score was really good, and it only played in certain scenes. Even though there were several silent scenes where all you could hear were natural noises, it was still freaky. After the credits, the start of the movie was extremely unsettling and my heart was racing within the first 15 seconds. The entire movie has the same mood, and it is one of the very few movies that is fast paced, all while being slow paced. Probably the coolest part of the movie to me was how there were basically three colors the whole movie: yellow, blue, and green. Definitely one of the coolest color techniques I’ve seen. There were so many good shots along with the colors, and I am truly impressed. I also extremely loved the story behind the burying of Ryan Reynolds, and it was not what I expected at all. Reynolds was so freaking good in this one, and even though you don’t expect him to be in such a serious role as this, he absolutely killed it. And this movie probably has my favorite ending of any movie I’ve ever seen. I won’t say what happens for spoiler reasons, but it finished perfectly, and my mind is truly blown away. The film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
