Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Definitely the weakest of the Indy movies, it’s still not a bad movie. In fact, I think it’s criminally underrated, even though there are still some bad moments. I’ll get the negative out of the way first. The CGI is kind of obnoxious, and definitely a bit overused. A lot of it is decent, just very noticeable. Still, it offers a fun, and definitely unique, experience. There are also just some silly and pretty dumb moments in general, but I’m not gonna have those overlook the pure entertainment this movie offers. I love the plot, even if it strays away from the classic Indy feel and storyline. I love the direction it takes, as it offers so much that has never been seen in any Indy up until this point. I also like all the characters. The return of Marion is pretty sweet, and old Indy is still hardcore and loveable. Shia LeBouf is also fun to watch, even though sometimes he’s a little over the top. And one of the best parts of the whole thing is the soundtrack. Once again, John Williams brings in an absolute fire score. Overall, this movie is somewhat stupid, but still awesome and pretty well made. I would recommend it to all action/adventure fans, though it’s probably hit or miss for most. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
