John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum
As the third movie of the series, it continues the sheer magnificence of the franchise. I can’t stress enough how awesome these movies are, and to know that the fourth one releases at the end of the month is so exciting. My first impression of this movie is how well it connects and picks up from the second movie. It’s an immediate continuation, and the storyline remains perfect. You really have to see it to understand how amazing it is. However, I think this one just barely misses passing the second movie as the best, though it’s still an A+ movie. There are several aspects where it’s better, but also a few where the second one reigns supreme. As I said, the storyline continuation is some of the best I’ve seen. It helps solidify the first three movies as not only one of the greatest trilogies of the 2010’s, but one of the greatest trilogies of all time. I can’t stress enough how good it is. And, like always, Keanu freaking Reeves totally gives his all for his character. Like the first two movies, I think a few of his line deliveries feel slightly dull, but also a few that literally gave me chills. Physically, he absolutely kills it. The movie (arguably) has some of the best fight scenes of the series, although each movie has its own unique look to it. I love the use of multiple weapons, not just guns. It’s what helps give the movie its own special spin. The return of Larry Fishburne and Lance Reddick were also special. The rest of the cast is totally stacked as well. I enjoyed seeing Anjelica Huston, Mark Dacascos, and Halle Berry. The music sounds about the same as the first two movies, while still being just as epic and thrilling. The cinematography was also superior, with a great use of lighting and reflections. Overall, I just can’t get over how good these movies are, and it’s so awesome from start to finish. I would most definitely recommend it for all action fans, though make sure to definitely see the first two movies first. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
