Love Actually (2003)
Love Actually
This is easily one of the most boring movies I think I’ve ever seen. I usually like romantic movies, but this one is totally in the toilet. Not only is it boring, but it’s also a pretty crappy movie. The story doesn’t make any sense at all, as it follows a bunch of random people who love each other. It doesn’t feel like there’s any structure to the plot. It constantly jumps around to a bunch of different couples that aren’t really connected, which makes the movie somewhat confusing. It was also really hard to pay attention to because of the way it bounced around between different people. Because of that, it made the movie so boring. The majority of it was really dumb as well. There were several moments and scenes that were very questionable, as a lot, and I mean a LOT, of things didn’t need to be added. Almost all of the characters were extremely obnoxious, and although it was a stacked cast, I pretty much hated everyone. The only ones I mildly enjoyed were Liam Neeson and Alan Rickman. I thought most of them did a decent job acting-wise, but that doesn’t mean their characters were good. However, like I said, this movie has a stacked cast of great British actors. Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Keira Knightley, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Alan Rickman, Martin Freeman, and Rowan Atkinson headline the star-studded chunk. The music wasn’t too great, either. Most of it felt extremely cliche and overused, and it sounds like every other rom-com you’ve ever seen. I did really like the way they ended the movie with “God Only Knows”, which, as we know, is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. All the other songs that were used were pretty terrible, and I didn’t care for them in the least. I would definitely never watch this movie again, and I’d only recommend it to those who love horrible rom-coms.
